What should I wear?
Anything that makes you feel sexy and/or elegant! You can wear a nice dress, a bodysuit, a top and high-waisted briefs, lingerie, or a robe. I highly recommend heels – even if you're not used to them, it's simply easier. You can find inspiration on Czech Burlesque School's Instagram.
You'll find everything you need in my e-shop, so no running around to stores before class.
What is burlesque?
I could answer this question for an hour! No kidding :) That's also why I'm writing my book about burlesque. Burlesque is a type of performance that includes elements of striptease. The performer's personality, costume, and the idea for the act are important. You can learn more about burlesque during the Introduction to Burlesque workshop, a course for beginners, at a show, or at various events.
Also check out the Media section.
What if I can't dance? Will I be able to do it?
Of course! Burlesque is a performance art, not a dance style. Moreover: you come to the class to discover yourself, connect with your body, work on your self-confidence, and meet amazing women. The choreography is not the most important thing; the most important thing is for you to enjoy yourself!
What is the cancellation policy at Czech Burlesque School?
You can cancel your workshop attendance 7 days before it takes place and I will refund the full amount. After that, you can find a replacement for yourself and send me an email at blue.zorya@gmail.com. In the case of a regular beginner's course (this does not apply to the weekend course), you can withdraw from the course within 24 hours of the end of the first lesson, and I will refund the full course fee minus the cost of the first lesson. So you risk nothing! For retreats, the cancellation policy is stated in the product description.
The terms and conditions are described in detail HERE.
I want to come, but I'm shy...
Of course, it depends on what the shame is about. It's important for you to know that my classes take place in a supportive and inclusive atmosphere. Each of us has our own pace, different needs, and tastes. Each of us is different, and that's exactly the point! You'll easily manage the class even without any experience in dance or burlesque. We work with gloves, a bathrobe, or a fan, so you can complete the entire beginner's course even in a ski jacket. :)
Do you teach private lessons or workshops?
Yes! I love private lessons! Write to me at blue.zorya@gmail.com or on Instagram and we will choose a suitable date. You can pay for the lesson on the website HERE.
I can also organize any workshop for a bachelorette party, conference, company or just a group of friends, in Prague, other Czech cities, or abroad.
I saw the photos from the lessons on IG and I like my privacy... what about that?
No problem! We can take one photo of the whole group as a nice memory, and a second photo for people who don't mind having their picture posted on my social media.

Where to buy burlesque costumes in the Czech Republic?
There is no specialized e-shop for burlesque costumes. It's part of the individual performers' skills – knowing where to get what you need, who to approach, and how to make something yourself. I collaborate with several costume designers who have experience with burlesque costumes. I sew some things myself, I definitely decorate them myself, and I buy some pieces from various e-shops. It's a big adventure!

What is a burlesque show?
A burlesque show is a theatrical and dance performance combining dance, costume, music, humour, and sensuality. It originates from historical burlesque and cabaret, with an emphasis on self-expression, exaggeration, and audience interaction. A contemporary burlesque show is not striptease, but an artistic performance intended for an adult audience.
Is a burlesque show suitable for women?
Yes, burlesque shows are very often intended primarily for a female audience. Many women perceive burlesque as a form that celebrates the body, self-confidence, and sensuality without the pressure of perfection. Burlesque performances are often inspiring, entertaining, and empowering, which is why they are popular among women of various age groups.
Is a burlesque show 18+?
Yes, a burlesque show is generally intended for audiences over 18 years of age. It contains elements of sensuality, nudity, or erotic suggestion, albeit in an artistic and stylized form. Specific age restrictions may vary depending on the type of event and venue, but most burlesque shows are marked as 18+.
What's the difference between burlesque and striptease?
The difference between burlesque and striptease lies in the purpose and form of the performance. Burlesque is an artistic and theatrical performance that combines dance, costume, acting, humor, and exaggeration. It emphasizes atmosphere, story, and self-expression. Striptease is primarily focused on gradual undressing and sexual stimulation of the audience. A burlesque show is not striptease, but a stylized stage art.
However, if we look at the origin of the word striptease - it's "strip" and "tease" - which is the essence of burlesque. But it's not just about taking off the costume; it's about how I do it and what I don't show.
